Dowell Family Photos

This picture was sent to me by Theron Dowell, g-g-grandson of George W. George W. Dowell's grave was unmarked until Theron alerted some interested folks in the Pagosa Springs, Colorado area and they were able to arrange for the veteran's marker that was finally placed with military honor on July 22, 2000

George W. Dowell was born in Indiana in 1833. He served in the 140th Indiana Volunteer Infantry during the Civil War. He was married twice, first to Catherine Jane Clemmons. His second marriage was to Lydia Elizabeth Hunt in 1862. He died in 1916 in Colorado. Here are a few of his descendants.
